Air Conditioning Installation in Málaga

Installation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems for homes and businesses. Licensed technician experienced with all types of AC units on the Costa del Sol.

Types of Air Conditioning Systems

Wall-Mounted Split

The most popular system for homes. One indoor unit and one outdoor unit, straightforward to install and excellent value. Ideal for cooling a bedroom or living room. If you are new to Spain, this is likely what you will see in most properties.

Ducted Systems

Centralised air conditioning through hidden ducts in the false ceiling. Distributes air evenly throughout the entire property. An elegant and efficient solution for larger flats, villas and townhouses.

Multi-Split

A single outdoor unit connected to several indoor units. Allows you to cool multiple rooms independently without needing multiple outdoor machines — ideal if your community has restrictions on exterior units.

Cassette (Commercial)

Ceiling-mounted system designed for commercial premises, offices and large open spaces. Distributes air in four directions for uniform cooling across the room.

Professional Installation

Done Right from Day One

Installing air conditioning is not just about mounting the unit on the wall. It requires a dedicated electrical circuit with the correct cable size, independent protections in the consumer unit (cuadro eléctrico) and sufficient contracted power from your electricity supplier.

Correct sizing is essential: a unit that is too small will struggle to cool the room, while an oversized one will use more energy than necessary. We calculate the exact BTU capacity needed based on room size, orientation and insulation.

What is included in our installation?

  • BTU calculation and system sizing for your property
  • Installation of indoor and outdoor units
  • Dedicated electrical circuit and connection
  • Refrigerant line and condensate drain installation
  • Independent electrical protections (MCB and RCD)
  • Commissioning and performance testing
  • Walkthrough of controls and programming

Maintenance and Repairs

Preventive Maintenance

If you have moved to Málaga from the UK or Northern Europe, you may not be used to relying on air conditioning. But with summer temperatures regularly exceeding 35°C on the Costa del Sol, your AC unit works hard. Regular servicing extends its life, reduces your electricity bill and prevents costly breakdowns.

  • Filter cleaning and indoor unit sanitisation
  • Outdoor unit cleaning and inspection
  • Refrigerant gas check and top-up if needed
  • Temperature and pressure testing
  • Electrical connection inspection
  • Leak detection

Common Repairs

One of the most frequent issues we see is the air conditioning tripping the electricity. This can be caused by a current leak, insufficient contracted power or a problem with the electrical wiring.

If this is happening to you, have a read of our blog post: Why does the air conditioning trip the electricity in Spain?

Faults we repair:

  • AC not cooling properly
  • Refrigerant gas leaks
  • Unusual noises from the unit
  • AC tripping the electricity
  • Thermostat or remote control problems
  • Water leaks and drainage issues

Energy Efficiency

Keep Your Electricity Bills Down

Air conditioning can account for up to 40% of your electricity bill during the Málaga summer. Choosing the right unit and keeping it well maintained makes a significant difference, especially given Spain's electricity prices.

  • Inverter technology (up to 30% less energy consumption)
  • A++ energy rating or higher
  • Correct sizing — not more or less capacity than needed
  • Regular servicing for peak efficiency
  • Smart thermostats and programming

Combine with Solar Panels

Air conditioning and solar panels are the perfect combination on the Costa del Sol: your AC uses the most energy when the sun is at its strongest, which is exactly when your solar panels produce the most electricity.

Installing solar panels can cover a large portion of your air conditioning consumption, dramatically reducing your electricity bill. Many of our customers combine both installations.
